BASSThe E.E. Bass school building on Main Street is one of the historical treasures of Greenville and the state of Mississippi. It is a community symbol of our rich arts and educational history, and is an architecturally significant historical landmark.

The goals of the E.E. Bass Foundation are to save a significant historical structure in our community, to put the building back into use by the whole community, to provide space for needed activities and to attract visitors to the Delta. Community arts activities will continue to be the main programs taking place in the newly-restored space, with support from use by local non-profit and economic development groups. The mission of the foundation is to make the E.E. Bass Cultural Arts Center the center of community life, and it strives to make Greenville a better city through the arts. The arts bring people together. The full restoration of this Mississippi Landmark will not only create space for the arts and community development, but will revitalize our community as well.

E.E. Bass Column Society: Restore the Balustrade of Jake and Freda Stein Hall

The E.E. Bass Foundation announces a capital project to raise funds for the balustrade restoration on Jake and Fred Stein Hall. Time and weather has taken its toll on the decorative balustrade that lines the top of Jake and Freda Stein Hall. In order to return the building to its' original grandeur, the Bass Foundation has begun replacing this decorative piece; in order to complete this project we need your help.

Be among the first to purchase a commemorative column for yourself, your class year, a loved one, a friend, or someone who has been a significant influence in your life. The column will be placed above the Jake and Freda Stein Hall to replace the aging balustrade that was removed during the summer of 2010. Your donation will become a lasting tribute, paving the way for generations to come. Our goal is to raise over $100,000 to completely restore the balustrade. Each column can be purchased for $500.

To purchase a column, complete the Column Society Brochure and mail it to the E.E. Bass Foundation at 323 S. Main Street, Greenville, MS 38701. Please make check payable to the E.E. Bass Foundation. If you have any questions, please call the E.E. Bass Foundation at 662.332.2246. Columns will be recognized on a plaque in the foyer of the Jake and Freda Stein Hall.
