The time is, once again, upon us!

The time is upon us again for the Greenville Arts Council annual Student Art Exhibit!

This exhibit has become a mainstay in our community and helps us celebrate even the smallest of local artists!

The student invitational is open to ALL Washington County students in grades Pre-K3 through twelfth, including private, public, parochial, and home-schooled students. Artwork may be of any medium and does not have to be matted or framed to be entered. All entries must be submitted with the entry form (found on our website) to the Greenville Arts Council, 323 South Main St, between 10:00 and 4:00 p.m., beginning on March 12, and no later than April 3. Students may only submit one piece of artwork. If a teacher needs to arrange for the pick-up of art, please contact the Greenville Arts Council at 662-332-2246 or execadmin@greenville-arts-council.com prior to April 3rd. After the end of the Exhibit, teachers or parents will need to pick up their children’s art beginning on April 30, and ending on May 9.

Each teacher or parent MUST create a digital inventory sheet for the student’s work, including name, grade, school, title, medium, and price, if the student is choosing to sell their art. This file must be emailed to execadmin@greenville-arts-council.org prior to April 3.

All entries will be judged in person by our guest judge and esteemed artist, Lauren Bostic! Bostic is a lifelong resident of Greenville. Bostic graduated with her BFA in Illustration from the Memphis College of Art, but is now primarily a metalsmith! She has a studio-Bosco Metalworks, located in the E.E. Bass Cultural Arts Center!

Awards available for students to win include High School Best in Show, High School Student Award of Merit, 3 Juror’s Choice awards for grades 9-12, 3 Juror’s Choice awards for grades 6-8, 3 Juror’s Choice awards for grades 3-5 and 3 Juror’s Choice awards for grades Pre-K – 2. Each award also comes with a variety prizes, a certificate, or a ribbon!

Once again, This year we will be offering students the opportunity to sell their art! With the addition of Viking Cruise Lines visiting E.E. Bass and much more foot traffic than normal, this is an excellent opportunity for students to sell their work if they wish to. GAC will treat the student art show just as any professional art exhibit, retaining a 30% commission on sales, and will mail checks to students after the end of the exhibit.
