We are very proud in Washington County to claim the legendary and creative Jim Henson as our own.

As many are aware, Jim Henson grew up on the banks of Deer Creek in Leland, Mississippi, and he later created the family of Muppets that changed education as we knew it at the time. To this day, his characters are still teaching young children how to count, to learn the alphabet, and master other eductional concepts. Henson was also an advocate of acceptance of diversity and differences in others.

On Friday, February 12, at 5:30 p.m., please join us online for a virtual presentation by Mrs. Mary Boteler, who will offer a tour of the Jim Henson Museum in Leland; Dr. Debra Dace of the Greenville Public Schools will also offer comments on the importance of early childhood education.
